Our Mission, Services, and Impact
Desert Spring Community Resource Center helps Southern Nevada neighbors access food, resource referrals, and compassionate support during difficult seasons.
Through Good Choice Food Pantry, DSCRC provides supplemental groceries and available essential items by appointment. DSCRC also connects individuals and families with trusted community resources for basic needs, family support, healthcare, transportation, employment, and other stabilizing services.
With the support of volunteers, community partners, and donors, DSCRC works to reduce food insecurity and help neighbors move forward with dignity and hope.
Who We Are
Desert Spring Community Resource Center (DSCRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered as a charity with the Nevada Secretary of State. Our mission is to strengthen the community by connecting Las Vegas residents with food, resources, and hope.
With just two full-time staff members and 60 active volunteers, DSCRC operates almost entirely through volunteer support.
Through Good Choice Food Pantry, DSCRC helps neighbors access food and make healthy food choices. In this client-choice pantry, guests use a cart to select foods they and their families will enjoy.
New guests are welcome and will be guided through the registration process during their visit.
During registration, guests may be asked to provide valid identification and basic household information for the Three Square Oasis system.
DSCRC partners with Three Square Food Bank and the Feeding America Grocery Rescue Program to expand both the quantity and variety of available food options.
DSCRC does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital or family status, income from public assistance, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program, service, or employment practice.
What We Do
Food Pantry
Through Good Choice Food Pantry, DSCRC helps neighbors access food and make healthy food choices. In this client-choice pantry, guests use a cart to select foods they and their families will enjoy.

The pantry is designed to offer a welcoming, respectful experience where neighbors can choose items that best fit their household needs. This approach helps families receive support while preserving dignity and personal choice.
The Pantry uses Supporting Wellness at Pantries (SWAP) to help shoppers select foods that are low in salt, sugar, oil, and fat. SWAP is a nationally recognized, evidence-based stoplight nutrition ranking system designed to help promote healthy food choices at food pantries.
Volunteers are the face of DSCRC and Good Choice Food Pantry, helping staff each distribution shift and welcome neighbors with care and respect.
Resource Referrals
When life becomes complicated and the next steps feel unclear, DSCRC helps neighbors connect with practical, stabilizing resources. Our support program provides personalized guidance, helpful information, and referrals to trusted community organizations.
From housing and employment to healthcare, transportation, family support, and basic needs, DSCRC helps people understand available options and connect with services that may fit their situation.
Our team can also help neighbors identify what type of support may be most helpful during a difficult season. This may include education, training, application assistance, financial planning resources, advocacy, crisis support connections, and referrals to trusted partners.
Each conversation is designed to be welcoming, respectful, and focused on helping neighbors feel heard, guided, and less alone. DSCRC works to support stronger futures by helping individuals and families make informed decisions and move forward with greater stability.
Volunteers, staff, and community partners help make these resource connections possible for neighbors throughout Southern Nevada. This support helps neighbors feel more prepared, more informed, and better connected to the help available around them.
